Last week, “Jersey Shore” set a record for almost 9 million people tuning in, the biggest in MTV’s history. So, why are so many people interested in “The Situation”, Snooki, JWOWW, Pauly D. and the gang? Is it their amazing intelligence, ability to have fun without drinking, self-control and uplifting speech? Hold up…what am I talking about? This is “Jersey Shore”, not “The Cosby Show”.
…but maybe it should be. Shows like “The Cosby Show” didn’t make you feel like you just lost a few brain cells after watching them and actually had values and life lessons that we could learn from. That’s so different from “Jersey Shore”. In fact, it’s the opposite! Instead, the “lessons” are how to fight, get drunk, have sex, go clubbing, get arrested (how about let’s not free Snooki!), cuss people out, and oh yeah…gym, tan and laundry. It seems that Mike’s abs, Snooki’s poof and GTL have become part of pop culture, let’s hope that their “lessons” don't become part of our life.
